About the group
The Lunar Resources Reduction Group is part of the Komurasaki–Koizumi Laboratory in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Tokyo.
Our mission is to understand how to turn local lunar materials into metals, propellants, and life-support resources. We focus on laser-based, thermal processess to reduce the reliance of resupply from Earth and thereby enhance the sustainability of future lunar or Martian bases.
If you are curious about high-temperature experiments, vacuum chambers, laser processing, and how these connect to real space missions, we would be happy to work with you.
Start by exploring our research and how to join.
